The brother of the President of Peru has been granted a reduction in the time he has to spend in prison. The supreme court of Peru reduced the sentence of Peru's President Ollanta Humala's brother who led a failed rebellion six year ago.
The apex court of Peru decreased Antauro Humala's sentence from the earlier twenty five years to a shorter, nineteen
years. Antauro Humala had been punished for leading an armed uprising against the then President Alejandro Toledo that had led to the killing of 6 people, including 4 police officers. The rebellion was carried out in Peru during 2005.
Following the declaration, Humala's lawyers stated that they shall appeal against the ruling in an attempt at further reducing the prison term. Peru President Humala has not made a statement, as of yet, on this new development.

Lonely Planet is considered the largest travel guide book and digital media publisher in the world. BBC Worldwide is the owner of lonely planet. Tongariro finds a place in the list of Lonely Planet's world's best parks. Grand Canyon and Iguazu Falls National Park are few others in the Lonely Planet's list. Tongariro , New Zealand came in at number nine – ahead of the Galapagos Islands in tenth place.
Lonely Planet describes the park as a serene realm of geological anomalies. Three dormant volcanoes, immortalised in the films, rise high above the cool, clear waters of Lake Taupo, Lonely Planet understood why it was chosen as a backdrop in Lord of the Rings trilogy. Lonely Planet says the craters of the moon are the highlights of Tongariro's ethereal sights. The smoke-spewing craters are described best as the steamy stretch of burping mud according to Lonely Planet. During summer the park offers excellent walking and tramps. During winters it's a busy skiing area. Some of the must dos in Tongariro are the Taranaki falls, Tama lakes, Whakapapa nature walk, skiing in Turoa and whakapapa ski area.
